Don't Miss Out on Utopia

While I'm still not quite done updating the site, I do want to underscore one change in particular because I believe the material it refers to is not common knowledge.

Rather than have several pages for projects that barely got off the ground, if at all, I decided to combine them all in a page for "alternate versions". That includes the Darren Oak Captain Canuck, but also the Utopia Moments edition.

I'd heard a bit about this storyline a little in the late 90's/early 2000's but did not think it had ever seen the light of day. In fact, it was released in mini-comics by Matrix around that time.

Those would probably be hard as hell to find now but writer Mark Shainblum makes the story available on his website. Follow the instructions about halfway down the page.

I'm reminded of when bands would release albums of b-sides of their singles and other rarities. Chapterhouse already publishes an excellent modern day version of The Captain and they have reprinted the original material. Between Reborn, Legacy and Utopia Moments, they might very well have enough material for a collection of more obscure Captain Canuck material.

However, I doubt anyone wants to revisit Darren Oak's "glory days" all that much while trying to market Tom Evans. But the obsessive collector in me kind of wishes it would happen.
